1920s fashion centered around the revolution of freedom in clothing and morals. Both men’s and women’s 1920s clothing broke out of the prim and proper mold of Victorian ideals and into free-spirited casual wear. Roaring 20s fashion gained comfort while showing off an entirely new and outrageous use of color and decoration.

The prohibition era has become the “new” vintage revival thanks to several TV shows, movies and miniseries depicting life in the 20s such as Peaky Blinders, Downton Abbey, Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries, Cable Girls, “Z” and The Great Gatsby.

  1. I’ve really enjoyed seeing all the fashions. I was born in 1942 and my Mom was a good seamstress and had quite a good eye for fashion. When I was a teenager she made me many style’s both current and from the 1940’s. I went to school with many wealthy kid who always love my unique wardrobe. We were just every day people, however she had very good taste, and I was well dressed. I still love good style.
